Alice Cooper Virginia Beach Concert reviews
Old Black Eyes
As good as hes ever been. Ive seen him many times over the years going back to H.S. when GnR was the opener. Alice still has "it"!!! The band is firing on all cylinders as usual. I was looking forward to seeing Nita, my only real disappointment, oh well. This was the first show Ive seen at the Tropicana showroom. I thought the view was pretty great. Couldnt see the left-most part of the stage because of gear blocking the view. Drummer was partially blocked as well, but still a really good view. The sound was really good, no poblems at all with that. Overall, it was a great time. Thanks Alice and Crew!!!
The Coop Still in His Prime and The Setlist Ruled!
I should have reviewed this months ago after Alice's most recent show at the Orpheum Theater in Memphis. Alice Cooper is still the greatest live act in rock n roll. Despite now being 75, he moves around, sings, and acts like a man half his age.
The backing band Alice has was and is incredible (and they recorded a new album with Alice out sometime this year, here in 2023). One of the great things about Alice is he always has a great theatrical show but doesn't add much pyro or anything. It is good old school staging with fun props that add to the show.
Also this was his best setlist in years. Yes some classics are there, but it was nice to hear a new song or two and actually wish he would do more of it. If you don't know some of the newer albums and songs that is on you! If anything a few of the 70's classics are overplayed (As is the case with many veteran artists). A man like Alice still puts out great new stuff and has fans from all eras. If you don't know anything past 1975 that is on you. It was great to hear songs like "He's Back" and "Freedom." Freedom should remain in the setlist!
I know many get stuck on the original Alice Cooper band material but some of his best creative stuff is after that era and I would hate to be a fan of someone performing for the last 60 years and stuck on one era. I am glad that Alice really branched out on this past tour and hope he continues it. Long live the Coop.
